Rib Steaks with Beer (Prepared)

1-1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
4 rib steaks (2 cm) thick
1 onion, peeled and chopped
1/4 teaspoon Celery seed
1/4 teaspoon Tarragon
1/4 teaspoon Paprika
1 teaspoon Chopped parsley
1 cup beer
1-1/2 cups commercial brown sauce, heated Salt and pepper


Step 1

Preheat oven to 150°F. Cook steaks in two batches following this procedure: Heat half of oil in large frying pan. When hot, add meat and cook 3 to 4 minutes over high heat. Turn meat over, season well and continue cooking three to four minutes. Remove meat from pan and keep steaks hot in oven.

Step 2

Add onion to frying pan and cook 4 to 5 minutes over medium heat. Sprinkle in herbs and cook 1 minute; mix well.

Step 3

Add beer and cook 5 to 6 minutes over high heat. Liquid should be reduced by 2/3. Stir in brown sauce and correct seasoning. Cook 2 to 3 minutes over medium heat. Pour sauce over steaks and serve.
