Our continued Heath and Safety measures
Dear Customers
We would like to update you on some additional Covid-19 measures in our stores:
Masks and face coverings required by all persons entering or remaining in Highland Farms stores under provincial regulations and municipal bylaws.
We encourage you to bring your own non-medical mask, however for your convenience, if you don’t have a face mask, we will provide you with a single-use mask at the entrance at no cost.
Bottle returns.
- We are now accepting bottle returns
Lottery tickets.
- Our lottery ticket sales are now open and available for purchase and redemption.
Please continue to follow social distancing guidelines while you shop by staying 2 meters or 6 feet apart from others.
We would like to thank our remarkable employees that continue to provide our customers a great shopping experience and all our customers for your continued support and patience as we work together to keep everyone safe.

Everyone’s Health and Safety are always at the heart of what we are doing
Dear Customers
We have implemented many precautionary measures in our stores related to COVID-19 and we continue to evaluate any new best practices and learnings as the situation continues to evolve.
- You will notice that for the time being we have pre-packaged items in some departments.
- To help with social distancing we may limit the number of people allowed to shop at any one time.
- We continue to ask all customers to support and recognize our senior’s hour and those at risk (the first hour of operations). This hour is being prioritized to protect our most vulnerable customers.
- We have installed plexi-glass dividers at checkouts and you may find only every other lane is open. As well we have added distance-based place markers on the floor. We will do what we can to get you through quickly and we appreciate your patience.
- Face shields have been ordered for our employees to wear.
- It is important to recognize and appreciate the incredible efforts and continued commitment of our employees throughout this time in keeping our stores operating so effectively. Therefore, we have implemented a $2.00/hour increase from March 30 to May 3, 2020.
Our employees have been working incredibly hard and without them, we would not be able to remain open. Thank you for showing kindness and looking out for one another.

Health and Safety Measure for Staff and Customers
Dear Customers
During the last few weeks we’ve been focussed on doing all the things we need to do to keep everyone safe and healthy. As we continue to focus on the health and safety of our employees and our customers, we would like to provide the following updates:
- We will no longer be packing customer’s groceries in reusable bags. Customers can pack their own reusable bags or use store plastic bags.
- Remember to follow social distancing guidelines while you shop by staying 2 meters or 6 feet apart from others.
- We are strongly encouraging cashless payment methods (i.e. debit or credit).
- We continue to encourage our customers to support our senior’s hour and those at risk (the first hour of operations) to shop with less traffic and increased confidence.
- We are working with our vendors to ensure you have access to fresh food and essentials at fair prices during this challenging time, with new inventory arriving regularly in our stores. As demand continues for some products, quantity limits may be imposed until we are able to restock and we will not be offering rain-checks if a product is not in stock.
- We have temporarily closed our café seating areas in all stores.
- We will not be accepting returns until further notice.
- We have increased the cleaning and sanitization of our stores throughout the day. We are concentrating on high-use surfaces such as shopping carts, counter tops, washrooms, checkout areas and pin pads.
- We are asking all of our customers for their support during these challenging times.
- Please do not shop in stores if you have travelled outside Canada in the past 14 days, have been told for any reason to self-isolate or are not feeling well.
- Please stay informed and knowledgeable with all of the World Health Organization recommendations including practicing regular hand washing, cough or sneeze into your elbow, stay home if you are feeling unwell and maintain social distancing.
Our employees have been working incredibly hard and without them, we would not be able to remain open. Thank you for showing kindness and looking out for one another.

Dear Customers,
We understand that the current situation related to COVID-19 is disrupting your lives and raising many questions and concerns. Please rest assured that all our food stores are taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our customers and employees.
Over the last few weeks, we have been closely monitoring the evolving health situation and have been working to ensure that we are keeping your interests at the heart of every decision we make and everything we do.
We have implemented additional preventive measures, such as increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfection of our grocery stores by concentrating on high-use surfaces such as shopping carts, seating areas, counter tops, checkout areas, and ensuring our employees are following public health protocols.
In addition to implementing preventive measures, we are working hard to keep our shelves stocked, and are making every effort to continue to serve you well and meet your needs.
